Job Description 

We are looking for an organized and goal-oriented restaurant general manager to oversee the running of our fun, local restaurant, Escondido. The general manager is responsible for creating a positive customer experience and vibe in the restaurant, helping staff stay motivated, hiring and training staff, keeping records of income and expenses, ordering, and ensuring that Escondido offers customers an unforgettable experience.

To be successful as our restaurant general manager you’ll need excellent communication skills and a passion for hosting positive, vibrant dining experiences. We are looking for an honest, laid-back, fun, and hard-working individual who wants to be part of creating something special. A great restaurant general manager will ensure that both employees and guests are s psyched with their experience.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Build a top-tier management team
  • Help lead the Escondido team towards opening our doors
  • Manage and oversee the entire restaurant operation once open
  • Deliver superior employee and guest experience 
  • Ensure employee and guest satisfaction
  • Plan and develop guest loyalty programs
  • Plan and develop the overall restaurant marketing strategy
  • Host and organize events
  • Respond efficiently to customer questions and complaints
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Manage and lead staff
  • Hire new employees
  • Training and evaluating staff performance
  • Ensure an enjoyable employee experience
  • Estimate consumption, forecast requirements, and maintain inventory
  • Manage restaurant supplies
  • Work with BOH manager and Bar Manager to control costs and minimize waste
  • Nurture a positive working environment 
  • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions
  • Implement innovative strategies to improve productivity and sales

Requirements and qualifications

  1. 3 years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar role
  2. Extensive food and wine knowledge
  3. Computer literacy
  4. Familiarity with restaurant management software
  5. Experience in event planning and marketing
  6. Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills
  7. Good financial management skills
  8. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  9. Team player
  10. Good time-management skills
  11. Great interpersonal and communication skills
  12. An enjoyable and solid character
